Introducing UBC Okanagan 2020-21 MDS cohort

The UBC Okanagan MDS program welcomes 32 students from all around the world to the Okanagan campus.

Here are some facts about the incoming cohort:

• 32 students
• 17 domestic, 15 international
• 9 women and 23 men
• a variety of academic backgrounds, including business, economics, political science, dentistry, geology,science (biomedical, environmental, physics), engineering (civil, mining, electrical, chemical, aerospace), statistics, computer science, mathematics, music and marketing, food nutrition and health, and more!
• previous degrees from UBC, other Canadian universities, United Kingdom, Mexico, United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, China, India, Colombia and the USA.
• 11 students have another advanced degree (Master’s, PhD) prior to MDS
• 48% of the class completed their Bachelor’s Degree in 2018 or earlier
• the age range of the cohort is 21-48, with an average age of 28

We were extremely impressed with the students chosen from a pool of 508 applications and look forward to an amazing year.
