The UBC Okanagan MDS program welcomes 35 students from all around the world to the Okanagan campus.
Here are some facts about the incoming cohort:
- 35 students
- 16 domestic, 19 international
- 12 women and 23 men
- a variety of academic backgrounds, including psychology, neuroscience, business, economics, political science, microbiology, biochemistry, engineering (civil, mining, electrical), statistics, computer science, mathematics and marketing, and more!
- previous degrees from UBC, other Canadian universities, Brazil, China, Macao, India, Korea, the Russian Federation, the USA, and Vietnam
- 14 students have another advanced degree (Master’s, PhD) prior to MDS
- close to 40% of the class completed their Bachelor’s Degree in 2018 or earlier
- the age range of the cohort is 21-48, with an average age of 27.5
We were extremely impressed with the students chosen from a pool of 409 applications and look forward to an amazing year.
